The drawing dates back to around 1892 . Almost throughout his entire career Steinlen lived in Boulevard Montmartre praising Paris and the everyday life of its people with their sorrows and joys. Steinlen's artistic idiom is so expressive that his works attract people at first sight, the more so because many of his drawings were widespread in lithographs. |
