Author: Pierre Bonnard
Drawings, Pen and Indian ink, 15.1x10.7 cm
Origin: France, Circa 1906

This sketch, typical of the artist, was printed on the invitation card to the one-man show of Bonnard, which took place in the Gallery of Bernheim the Younger in 1906. The style and iconography of the drawing are similar to those that we see in Bonnard's 1896-1898 illustrations for the book Maria by the Danish writer P. Nansen and it is possible that he used the same sitter.
